The SLC 8×50 model–which boasts an 8x magnification, a 50mm objective lens diameter, and a 6.3mm exit pupil diameter–offers excellent image quality and maximum operating comfort, making it perfect for users who demand viewing precision throughout the day and well into dusk. Each binocular in the SLC series sports either a Swarobright coating, which produces maximum color fidelity across the entire light spectrum, or Swarotop and Swarodur coatings, which are built to create bright, high-contrast images. As a result, you can easily observe birds and other wildlife from a distance, with the large exit pupil helping improve your vision in low-light conditions. The binoculars also feature a nonstick Swaroclean coating on the outer surface of each lens. The coating–which helps extend the lifespan of your optics–is particularly effective when you need to remove dried-on mineral residues (such as water marks from condensation), insect repellents, and tree resin.
To promote secure and comfortable handling while you view birds or wildlife, the SLC 50 includes thumb rests on the underside and depressions on the topside of the easy-to-grip rubber armoring. About Swarovski Optik
Although founded in 1949, Swarovski Optik’s roots actually trace all the way back to 1895, when Austrian Daniel Swarovski–who invented the world’s first electric grinding machine for jewelry stones–established the family-owned Swarovski Crystal in the province of Tyrol. Swarovski Optik owes its rise to Wilhelm Swarovski, son of the original founder and an avid hobby astronomer, who decided to build his own improved binocular in 1935 at a mere 17 years of age.
